This contract makes a provision to procure, install, commission and maintain a bespoke cockpit Ejection Seat Trainer (EST).

The purpose of the EST is to give aircrew the opportunity to receive comprehensive training in the use of their ejection seat which allows them to become familiar with the correct ejection posture and the ejection sequence, while practising their decision-making skills during simulated aircraft emergencies. 

Knowing when to eject is just as important as knowing how to eject. The EST provided was designed with considerable emphasis on safety, realism and reliability which allows a pilot to fly a mission and then to face a critical aircraft emergency situation, thus the pilot is then able to eject from the stricken aircraft in a realistic way.
